Northern Horizon Capital Group is an experienced investment manager operating from offices located in Helsinki, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Tallinn, Vilnius and Berlin. Northern Horizon manages several real estate funds and separate accounts with healthcare, office and retail assets. Northern Horizon is a member of INREV, SIPA, UNPRI and GRESB.
Due to significant deal flow and new business development activity, we are looking to hire an associate to our healthcare team with relevant background in real assets
Associate at the Helsinki office
Your future tasks include being a key contributor to transaction processes all the way from negotiations to signing and finally closing. You will also be supporting our business development team by researching new market, product and investor opportunities as well as preparing product marketing material including sophisticated financial analysis and high-quality investment presentations. The successful applicant will be a self-starter with the drive to take initiative as well as responsibility in all stages of a transaction. You will also assist our fund managers by supporting client reporting and other daily management activities of existing investment mandates and by preparing investment recommendations for approval by relevant decision-making bodies. The role will also include assisting in some ad hoc tasks, such as administrative work related to the property companies and funds.
In order to succeed in this role, we expect you to
Possess a degree in a suitable academic field (e.g. finance, economics, real estate, engineering, law).
Have 2 years of experience in real estate, financing, law or construction; experience in real asset transactions or M&A (corporate finance) would be an advantage.
Have a keen interest in financial markets generally and the asset management industry specifically.
Have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Have a positive “can-do attitude” and the willingness and ability to learn quickly.
Have excellent skills in standard Office –applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Have strong financial and analytical skills with an eye for details.
Have excellent organizational skills.
Independently solve problems and resolve issues.
Have good negotiation skills.
Have excellent spoken and written skills in our company language English as well as in Finnish; a command of other language(s) relevant for our operating area, such as Swedish, would be an advantage, but not a pre-requisite.
