Commenting on Mr. Smith’s appointment, Lars Ohnemus, the Chairman of the Board of Northern Horizon said:
Andrew has an impressive track record in the Nordic real estate sector and has also been working extensively with the Baltics and other markets, including fund raising for and IPO’ing our Baltic Horizon fund. He has a very strong international industry network and has been a contributor to his previous employer’s success (Catella) over the last 15 years. In the past, he also worked internationally for CBRE and ING. His standing, especially in the real estate sector, will be a major asset for us on deal sourcing, business development as well as on the fund raising side.
Andrew Smith’s corporate finance experience will also help in assessing and executing the most successful exit strategies for Northern Horizon closed-end funds.
Northern Horizon is a company I have known and worked with as an advisor over several years. The hard work completed by many, its strong investor base and the unique platform is a natural conduit for significant growth which I intend to drive, says Andrew Smith.
Andrew Smith will assume the new position from Northern Horizon’s Stockholm office effective immediately.
We know Andrew from his time at Catella where he worked since 2005 in Stockholm, Moscow, Warsaw and London. We have watched his involvement in the creation of property companies, helping Nordic Institutional Investors gain exposure to core and value add real estate in the UK, France, Germany and the Nordics across most sectors and this experience is something we look forward to taking advantage of”, says Milda Dargužaitė, Managing Partner and Group CEO at Northern Horizon Capital.
